Reaxys is a chemistry discovery search engine that helps in the scientific training and the research workflow process of researchers who requires chemistry insights.
Reaxys helps you to find essential, relevant and actionable chemistry information such as chemical formulas and bibliographic information for basic concept search.
Whatever field you are in, if you have a chemistry question, Reaxys is able to provide answers to support critical decisions. At the same time, Reaxys also enables effective chemistry learning from an undergraduate level and beyond.
Elsevier will be organizing a demo of Reaxys in Institut Teknologi Bandung on the 19th July 2013, information of the demo is as shown below:
Date:

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) in collaboration with TOTAL E&P Indonesie and Total Professeurs Associes (TPA) will present a 5-day short course (Integrated Week- IW) “Industrial Catalyst & Related Processes”. The lecture in this course will be conducted in English.
The short course will be held in ITB Bandung (venue will be communicated later), from September 2nd – 6th 2013. The short course (including lecture materials, snack, lunch, and certificate) is FREE.
The Organizer has a right to limit the participants if the total participants exceeding the limit (40 participants). The participants could be Bachelor/Master students in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, etc) or Sciences who are interested in industrial processes and control activities performed during production.
Note that the certificate will only be given for participants with a minimum attendance of 90% and more than 60% rating after examination (in the last day of IW i.e. on 2 September 2013).
Detail of course materials and the instructor background is shown in the following.
Instructor
Dr. Jean-René BERNARD is a member of “TOTAL PROFESSEURS ASSOCIES (TPA)” with specialties in chemical kinetics and catalysis.
He start his career in Elf France, Solaize as research engineer in catalysis which produced 13 patents filed and also created major breakthrough in reforming of light naphta for benzene production.
In Elf France he also had been process engineer for refining, director of ELF-CNRS Joint Laboratory “catalytic refining reactors engineering”, senior engineer for reactors engineering, and deputy head of process research department.
His career in Total began on 2000 as head of research department “optimizing refineries” (Total Refining & Marketing, Gonfreville, France) and as director of a research unit specialized in catalysis (Total Petrochemicals and Total Refining & Marketing, Feluy, Belgium).
He also received several awards during his career as follows: Lucien Chatin Prize, Science Academy; Elf Aquitaine Innovation Winner: aromatization catalyst; Elf Aquitaine Innovation Winner: expertise of industrial reactors; and Montgolfier Award, Society for the Encouragement of National Industry.
